One of the tap rules states a ampacity of tap can't be less than 10% of the feeder OCPD.
Our Engineer told me that there are “some regulation”, it's 5 feet rule for FA equipment. I tried to google regulation for NYC, I couldn't find.
We show on our design plan a 5 feet tap with 10 awg from 1200A feeder into 30A switch with 20A fuses.
Did someone encounter this situation on a electrical plans?
Does any one know exemption for tap rules?
