How do you guys make up tape light transformers (residential)? I’ve done it several ways over the years, recently I saw a guy put a recessed box in the wall and run both the low volt/line volt into it then put the transformer in that box at trim out. Seems like the cleanest way to do it but to my understanding you can’t run both into the same box. Just looking for ideas any pics would be great

The last one I did, I put the driver next to the J-box behind the dishwasher and ran a 2-wire switch loop to the dimmer.

I use plug in power supply. Most these lights I am putting in kitchens, if elsewhere might need to get more creative at times, but first preference is put receptacle above the cabinets. If that is not possible maybe inside a cabinet. In the cabinet under kitchen sink is also a place that usually is acceptable.

I’ve wondered that it’s funny all the landscape low volt is plug in I’ve always wondered why I can’t find a plug in transformer for under cab lights. Do you have a specific brand you use ? My lighting supply house kinda sucks but their prices are hard to beat. Plug on would be so much cleaner

Nice how did you wire the driver? Mine doesn’t come with whips so basically what I do is a line and low volt box, then I run SO whips to each side from input and output through a blank cover. It’s annoying as hell and looks ok but it just seems like there’s a more efficiebt way to do it

hardwire and mount them to bottom of the cabinet there thin enough to never see. Only time you will see is when cleaning countertops- I like that stuff in sight so I don’t have to track it down latter and find it’s behind something that homeowner never new of- real pain that way- I use to put in upper cupboard- but most people can see that and don’t like….
If it has space from top of cupboard to ceiling that’s the best spot. Easy Quick Look and hides it wonderfully
