Tapping seasonal A/C circuit for christmas lights

I thought there was explicite permission for this years ago, but I cannot find it. I do not do much service work and have refused to do this in the past, opting to add circuits that can be used all year. When I have seen this done, the #12 tap wires are shoved under the same lug as the #6 AL wire, and then either fused or ran to a small sub panel. At least they use gfci outlets! Where might I find the definitive answer to this seasonal, dual use, of a circuit? If it is legal, does anyone have a slick method of making this code compliant?

Thanks, I assume that means it is still legal. Where is it in the code? Assuming the circuit wires are not sized to do more than the a/c, does it have to be labeled with a warning? Can these outlets still count for the service work on a/c? This would be an old enough house that an outlet was not required near the a/c for service work. I believe that I am concerned with the contradiction to 210.19(A)(1)

Never legal. You cannot tap #12's under the #6al wires. Never could. What Iwire said was intall a small panel witha breaker for the A/C and a breaker for the Outlet. Again don't forget about the neutral
