This is an odd one.

Long story short the customer wants a new Meter/main combo at the road. Problem is the utility cannot get to setting a new transformer for likely a month or two and we are not in a position to wait. The current power is out of an older steel transformer house mounted on the ground that will be decommissioned after they are able to set their new unit.

Question: in the meantime can I run "temp" power from the existing transformer through the air? We cannot trench due to disturbance of established tree roots.
So I am wondering if I can just fly out of the old transformer box with either steel or PVC and secure the pipe along the ground for the next month? Where would this be covered in the NEC? Or is as simper as following the rules for whatever raceway I choose? Maybe I am overthinking it a bit.

Thanks
