IAW NEC 2008 handbook, page 485, Sect. 400.9 Splices. In Ref. to the highlighted area following this Sect. Am I to understand that cable may be repaired on site to continue operation but must be removed from service once that task is completed ? The instruction is general and I wanted input from other sources and opinions. Thanks. Chris.
