i am working in a commercial building and a temporary circuit is available which is feeding 3 lights which is what people are working with.Well the cieling grid was installed and i dropped all my 2x4 then made splices to the juction boxes.I know i have to bring the temporary dowm. What i want know if i can use that circuit to light up a few off the 2x4 until i get inspected for my service, i have a wall rough and a cieling rough passed all i need is a final and meter room to be inspected.

Re: temporary installation

This is a pretty common occurrence. Seems that on a lot of commercial jobs the painter wants permanent lighting so he can see what the finished product will look like. It shouldn't be a problem.

Re: temporary installation

here we cannot get a ceiling ok until the new lights are energized. I usually drop all the temp lights and associated wiring below the grid first chance I get so that there are no issues or questions about temp wiring being left above the grid.
