Temporary over voltage question

I also have one partial week of data from an Ideal PQ meter that correlates with TED5000's data. Unfortunately I didn't loose any equipment while it was attached so all it is useful for is to prove the accuracy of TED5000's data.

Since I know it is not a secondary side neutral problem summing L-N voltages, in my opinion, is not a huge deal. I've had losses on both sides, A&B.

I could believe there was erroneous data coming out of the MTU if it had continued to happen and if it did not coincide with the loss of equipment and POCO involvement.

There are plenty of cases of people using TED5000 data in cases against POCOs and winning. I have no concerns with taking the info I have into court if I can't get this resolved outside of court. I believe I have enough evidence in my favor and correlating info to substantiate my claim.

This is bordering on giving legal advice but I will keep it short, simple and mostly factual instead of advice on a course of action- to win a lawsuit over the POCO you will pretty much need to prove gross negligence by the company or at least an individual doing something as a representative of that company. The POCO does have some protection against such claims by stating they are incidental problems from acts of God, or other malfunctions and usually they are not held liable for damages from those kinds of things.

So if the reason for the problem was a worn out, malfunctioning component or something along those lines or something that was damaged by mother nature then your chances of winning any lawsuit generally go down. If somebody did something wrong your chances of winning any lawsuit may go up. The fact that they are hiding information doesn't necessarily mean there was gross negligence, but they may still try to withhold information as long as they can to try to prevent any misinterpretation of that information from becoming accusations against them.

wire twister:

A TED 1000 reads 13 W with a high quality polypropylene 30 mfd capacitor as a load. This should read very close to 0. On a Kill-A-Watt the reading is 0.6 W and 168 VA. The TED error is about 8% and the Kill-A-Watt about 0.4%. TED 5000 has about the same error as the 1000 because the current transformers and monitoring chip and its parameters are essentially the same between the two models.

This error is why some users of TED and power factor correction power savers think that they prove that the power factor correction capacitor is saving energy when it is not.

On a resistive load I have found any TED system devices I have to be fairly accurate in power measurement. Certainly accurate enough to use to find power wasting loads. To prove that a utility meter is bad (out of calibration) that utility meter needs to be tested in a certified lab, and the TED calibration has to be shown to be correct and that no abnormalities occurred in the TED energy accumulation.

On my 1000 system with the Footprints software in my laptop the circular buffers contain 48 hours of 1 second data, 32 days of 1 minute data, and 722 days of 1 hour data. With this kind of data it is possible to verify cumulative energy values over any desired interval.

Because the 5000 system has Footprints in the Gateway and there is limited memory therein these circular buffer ranges are much shorter.

I will respond with some interesting information later.

Actually in winter season there is low resistance in transformer. Sometimes this reaches at 0, that means no resistance to down the voltage. I think this is the problem right now. But you should ask from your neighbors about this matter may they are having the same problem like you because you guys are connected to same transformer.
