Should work with any analog AVR.

With the analog AVR sure but for example some of the gensets I have, the genset controller has an acceptable voltage range depending on mode and will alarm out, drop the load, and shut down if the output voltage is outside that range.

I have a dumb question. This looks like a big enough job where you could just spend the $3000 and buy a transfomer. Then you have a transformer when you're done. You could likely rent a transformer but unless you only need it for a week that would probably end up costing more than buying one.
I would buy a transformer when I find the right one. Any suggestions?

Got it. My location is still set to Maine and I don't know how to edit that but this project is in Texas. Thanks for the suggestion and I will look up for more options around here.

Another option is to 'bank' three single phase transformers. Just use 480:240V transformers and arrange the secondaries in wye configuration.
