Yes, you have a point there too. If we did not buy things, they would not make them. Of course, sometimes we have to get what is available otc without having to run all over town.

Simple; with every run of NM, run a #6 bare cu alongside. Staple so the #6 is tightly clenched on one side and the NM is secure but not pinched. Terminate the #6 at the panel on that end and to a water line on the other with a clamp. Now every staple is grounded and if one ground is lost, you still have the other.
