Testing an ungrounded GFCI

You are absolutely correct. I went back and read my first post in this thread. I made it sound like I do this all the time. Not so. I just got involved with this issue once in the field. It will be corrected immediately. This thread has been a real learning experience for me. Imagine two appliances sitting next to each other. One is connected to my "bonded GFCI" on a circuit that has lost its neutral connection up stream and has no grounding couductor. The other appliance (both appliances have metallic cases) is on a new circuit that has a grounding conductor and is properly grounded. Could be quite a fire show and the GFCI would not trip either!
I guess rules are rules for a reason! Ya think? Man am I embarrassed!!!
