I live in NE Texas I went into a small town and asked what the procedure was on getting a permit. They said all I needed was a masters license is that right? If I understood what she was telling me that an EC could sub to a master and get a permit. Wouldn't that be the same as selling your EC license? Steve
 
According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, you must be a licensed Electrical Contractor, or be employed by one, to do electrical work here in Texas. Check out their web site, it's full of useless bs and an occasional tidbit of info.

i don't know about texas, but the 3 states i am liscenced in allows a master to be pull permits for one company. to "front" for more than one listed company can be cause for a fine or license suspension
 
Lets all get federal licensing good anywhere. Anyone who can produce Mike Holts phone number is grandfathered in automatic. Licensing was set up to to protect consumers and reduce the likelyhood of a fire. Not what it has become today....
