Just wanted to thank the posters in this forum for the information and help. I'm not an electrician so per the rules won't be posting again. I'm a "computer guy", so if can help anyone with a computer question, feel free to email me

Re: Thank You

The Forum rules do not prohibit you (or any other person whose livelihood is not from the electrical industry) from posting. They only prohibit us from giving you any ?How to? advice.

A DIY is permitted to ask questions about the profession, so long as it is clear that the person is not looking for help in performing their own electrical work. Here are a few examples of questions that might be considered ?allowable?:

  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">What section of the NEC discusses (this subject or this issue)?</font>
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"></font>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I have a quote from an electrician to do (this work) for (this price). Does this seem like a reasonable and fair price?</font>
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"></font>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The contractor building my new house is telling me that I have to install (this type of circuit). I won?t use it, and I don?t want to pay the extra costs. Do I have an alternative?</font>

Re: Thank You

I was actually a little (only a little) dismayed that the original post was locked. Only a little, because I didn't care enough to stir the debate in a new thread. :D
