Thinking of changing co. name

Like AAAA Electrical?

Been done too many times.

Just be careful in name picking my company names has 1000's of almost close, at times it has been a hassle at supply houses..

Nearly every electrical Contractor in Indy is named after the owner or original owner. So it was easy for me to decide to use my name, other wise I would have used something different. I started a carpet and upholstery cleaning co. in Charleston SC. Southwind Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning. It is still in business today with the second owner, I am glad I didn't name it Willett Carpet and Upholstery cleaning.

I swear on my kids I saw that very name on a van this afternoon! I didn't get close enough to see what the business nor did I have a camera handy but I did laugh. :grin:

Do a bit of research on the name you are contemplating. I once worked for an outfit that changed their name..... big mistake. They chose the name that had been used be an EC several years before, and they screwed a lot of people. The boss was so proud of his choice.

Then, the phone stopped ringing. Business dropped off a cliff. Lots of guys got let go. Only when inquiring about a bid did they find out from a builder, "Heck no. I never even looked at your bid, considering what you did to me back then!"

Another name change quickly followed.
