Was the price they charged in line with the quality of the work that was done?
Yes when I saw the work that was done not even being an electrician but an air conditioning person things did not seem normal compared to most panels I've opened up over the years. Two of the three have the necessary amount of conductors the one going to the garage only has L1 L2 and Stranded this is the one I was questioning whether a separate ground could be pulled from the garage and that could be used in The Strand it becomes the neutral. We are guessing on some issues here, but I will speculate a little. I assume the only work done was pull the old panel off and put the new panel on. If this is correct, there were code violations already and you will need to be the one to foot the bill to bring them up to code. That would include running 4 wire feeders to ALL of your subpanels. This puts you in a conundrum. I would not have confidence in the contractor that did the change out unless a more competent "boss" made me feel better. But you still have to pay the original contractor for the correct portion of the work done.
Also, zooming in on a picture, it looks like they nicked the aluminum conductors pretty badly where the stripped them for the lugs.
And as far as the electrician I was referred to him by somebody who was highly recommended but very quickly I had my doubts should have sent him out the door in the first 5 minutes but I desperately needed this done he did get the new main run down the side of the building from the aerial to the meter box something I could have never done hopefully he will be returning after the holiday I've not even reached out to him I want my ducks in order before I confrontYes when I saw the work that was done not even being an electrician but an air conditioning person things did not seem normal compared to most panels I've opened up over the years. 3700.00Was the price they charged in line with the quality of the work that was done?
Then no.3700.00
Well YMMV.Then no.
At least from the subs, but we don't know what the loads are.Does this panel also run all the neutral load through the bonding screw?
Your first photo shows the bond screw installed so i am going to assume the installer did so because this panel is the first means of disconnect for your system. That being the case then all of the grounds should have been landed on the Neutral buss. However, given that the bonding screw is installed then the case and the Neutral buss are affectively bonded together attaching the grounds to the case does bond them all together and as long as the requirements of 250.8(A) (1)-(8) are satisfied the installation you show is acceptable.Hello fellow Contractors HVAC guy here just paid someone to put a new panel in my house and the grounds and the neutrals are connected to the panel itself does that mean all 120 volt neutral power is going through the grounding Bolt is this considered an industry standard I've never seen this before I don't believe. And let me clarify when I say the panel I mean the physical 200 amp Square Box panel they are zip screwed pretty much to the back of the panel for some reason it will not let me upload pictures to show you however there are lugs with an allen key screw holding them in place at the ends of the wire but the physical square box of the panel is now the conduit back to the neutral and ground
