I was called to rough a restuarant. I know the contractors work, and I saved this job for the last call, as I expected to be there for awhile. He did not dissapoint me. ;)

There are too many "violations to list", or I would probably take Mike Holt's full server memory with these pictures...

Here are two pictures of different issues. One is simple roughing the other is a service inspect...remember, he called me to look at this stuff.

This is the service he asked me to temp out. WOW, is he kidding? To me this is just embarassing. I do not enjoy these kind of inspections.
The angle is tough, but everything is wrong. It may not all be his fault, but he should try to resolve some of it before he calls me. P.S. there was no grounding installed, just some of the GEC left over from the previous service.

What was the work that he was doing? How much of this is existing and what is he resposible for as regards to his work?
 
Funny thing is, it looks like those pipes could have been installed elswhere. Are other trades that clueless?

Wait.....don't answer that. Rhetorical.
 
So in a case like this do you just list the violations as "fail 2008 NEC" rather then try and write them all down. :grin:
 
The electrical is a nightmare I get that,..but tell me is that the water main and is that what is feeding that sprinkler system ???
I also like the means of support.

Article 320.17 references 300.4 (A) (C) & (D). I do not see where (D) applies to this photo since (D) applies to cables installed parallel not perpendicular. I don't see where (A) would apply either, since the holes are punched not bored..........hey it's all about the precision of language. :-? :grin:

I hope you get paid for re-inspection fees,because the contractor that called you for that mess surely deserves one...

Wow the sprinkler system looks new.... routed right in front of the panels that way?? Pierre you a combo inspector or just electrical??
