Say for instance you have a 200 amp service coming into a dwelling. Is there anything in the codebook stating that the total amperage of all the circuit breakers combined can equal a certain amount? In other words, do all the circuit breakers combined need to be 150 -200% of the total main?
The only thing I've seen is that there can only be a maximum of 42 overcurrent devices. (408.35)
In other words if you have a 200 amp main panel, in theory could you load up the panel with a total combined amperage of 300 with all your breakers combined?
