An old timer came into the electrical dept yesterday and asked for 18" of BX. I said we only sell it by the foot, you can't do too much with 18", how about two foot? "Oh no, two foot is too much, I only need 18". Okay, so I cut him 18" and hand it over. "Okay now I need these in a smaller size, so that they'd work on this BX". I look and he has a bag of 1/2" emt couplings in his hand. "That's the smallest size, what do you plan on doing" I asked. Well the guy wanted to join two BX's together and use the coupling to hold it all together. When asked how he planned on splicing the wires together (12 gauge) inside of a coupling, he said he was going to solder them. I told him he was crazy but he thanked me for my help.
