It's always been my understanding that what makes any scaffolding into "Baker's Scaffold" is just putting wheels on it.
A Baker is a tall, narrow scaffold where I live too also.

This is one colloquialism of the trades that seems to transcend regions as far as the west, midwest, and back east goes. I don't know why it missed the south.

Never heard of it. Then again, never worked a new-con jobsite here that one could roll a scaffold around, not unless it had monster truck tires.

One of my first jobs as an apprentice with one company was to push the mechanic down the hallway of the phone company as he changed ballasts. I would clean the grills while he did the ballasts. About 2 o'clock in the afternoon he dropped his screwdriver and almost poked my eye out, then immediately yelled at me, "You have to watch what I'm doing!" Life as an apprentice:)
