I have had an exhaust fan installed in my garage. A timer switch was installed on the fan which is being fed from the receptacle in the garage ceiling. It comes on as programmed correctly. However when the timer switch is programmed to turn off the fan, the circuit breaker that it is being fed from (via the receptacle) trips, but only when it turns "off" either by the switch or manually pushed the off button.
Q: Why is it tripping the breaker when turning off and not on??
Thanks to all.
