What do you folks think of the Ting sensor? Saw one for the first time today. Do you think it works or is it snake oil?

Used to be some cream that you used to get rid of ringworm called Ting.

Ting is a small plug in device that monitors power and for arcs. It connects to your Wi-Fi and a phone app. $99 for first year & sensor, $49 annually. The device is probably $25 at most to make. It’s like alarm systems the money is in the monitoring. The HO will see many transients on app, which are normal…

The have one major insurance company who has bought into this, but I can't find any technical info that gives any real explanation of how it works.
