LOL, I just taped up a box the other day for the Jeep. I'm mostly using a bag/pouch slung over my shoulder, with a set of clip-on pouches for oddball screws, wirenuts, etc and a larger one for bits that I don't use all the time. Other bits, blades and drivers are packed into the carrying cases of my cordless tools. Less often used tools are kept in bags or stowed in the Jeep in various spots. Once I'm in, I usually use pockets for tools and park the bag somewhere.

One thing I highly recommend for reducing weight is going with Wiha screwdrivers and Knipex dykes, linemans and cobra pliers. The weight difference in even a small set can be a few pounds and I've been incredibly impressed with quality. No more Kleins.

where did you purchase these tools at:confused:

You can get them all at Grainger. You can get a better deal from an online seller, www.chadstoolbox.com .

Knipex: http://chadstoolbox.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=95

and I got this 6 piece set from Wiha: http://chadstoolbox.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=278

One note: These are not beating screwdrivers like Kleins etc are. The metal is thinner, the tips are forged (I've never had to touch up the tips of the drivers) and you'll damage the insulation beating on them. It's fine to use on locknuts, but not for chopping out plaster. For that you'll need an old beater that you can sharpen.

Sometimes you just gotta wear the bags.

I strip them down for specific tasks but working without them wastes a lot of time and effort. Even simple tasks can require 6 or 8 tools. Digging thru my pockets looking for tools is frustrating.

Most of us are used to what Knipex calls New England style linemans (like Kleins). I took the leap and got the other style with the round grip in the jaw and have never looked back. They're especially useful for tightening wirenuts and grabbing up to 3/4" EMT as well as smaller bugs and those IDIOTIC grounding nuts in Ambiance transformers.

My tool bag:.......

Wow. A few different brands and colors and what not, but you basically posted a photo of my bag and contents. I may have to drag my camera out to van tomorrow and take a photo to prove it.
