The towel bar doesn't heat the house, it heats the towels... were also installing a Radio Ra system, the switches are insanely expensive, the owner is a doctor, enough said. :)

....just what you need when you come out of a steaming, hot shower- a heated towel:slaphead:

...you should tell him you also sell a heated toilet paper dispenser :jawdrop:

I think that was Wayne's point. Would an inspector accept this as proof:

and approve the gizmo? IDK?:? Is a CSA listing good in the US?

NEC is fairly neutral about which NRTL's are acceptable.

Art 100 definition of listed:

Listed. Equipment, materials, or services included in a list published by an organization that is acceptable to the authority having jurisdiction and concerned with evaluation of products or services, that maintains periodic inspection of production of listed equipment or materials or periodic evaluation of services, and whose listing states that either the equipment, material, or service meets appropriate designated standards or has been tested and found suitable for a specified purpose.

Informational Note: The means for identifying listed equipment may vary for each organization concerned with product evaluation, some of which do not recognize equipment as listed unless it is also labeled. Use of the system employed by the listing organization allows the authority having jurisdiction to identify a listed product.

The NEC definition of listed matches the definition of listed found in the NFPA Regulations Governing Committee Projects. See definitions of approved, authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), identified (as applied to equipment), and labeled.

The part in bold is what may be a problem for some people. Otherwise UL is not the only NRTL out there. NEC does not specify UL as the only NRTL that is acceptable, but does refer to UL standards quite often in informational notes.
