I am installing some Lithonia 120 VAC LED track lighting that was donated to our church. The track is a metal channel with the plastic channel and conductors in it. Since the outer channel is metal, doesn't that have to be grounded? You can see it if you google Lithonia track sticks. Unfortunately, to see the actual product page, you have to go to lithonia.com, let it redirect to the new website (darn corporate takeovers!) then search that page for track stick. It's the last one, Lithonia Lighting, not Juno.

Thanks in advance!

I got a 404 error going to Lithonia website, not a redirect. Are you talking about the case that covers up the plug assembly off the branch wiring?

An exact part number would be helpful. I watched a short YouTube video from Lithonia on installing the track sticks, it appeared that the outer part of the track and the cover were both plastic, and I'm guessing that even if they are metal, the EGC in that factory plug grounds all metal parts

Sorry, I guess I should have just posted the link. https://lithonia.acuitybrands.com/p...RACK-KIT/LED-Lamped-Decorative-Track-Lighting

The feed will provide the necessary connection for the ground conductor.

I cannot see any connection to the outer metal track housing. The only connections are to the three internal conductors for H, N, and G. I do have a wiring box cover that came with one of them. It has two set screws that hold the sides of the metal track and would ground it if they cut through the finish. That's what got me thinking about the ground. The only connectors I can find online fit into the track and simply contact the three internal conductors.

Track Light Grounding

The live end feed has a grounding terminal. There is a set screw that will make contact to the metal channel when you tighten it down.

You can always check continuity between the grounding rail and the track casing.

I would feel comfortable though that a UL listed product has the required grounding.
