My faves are Electrical Contractor and Fine Homebuilding (no relation).

The ads are often educational as well. New products appear there first.

I gave up on EC&M after a few "Forensics case studies" that were waaaay off the mark, I cant believe some of those made it past an editor. I wrote letters to them asking to print corrections or something and never got a response. I guess they dont write the articles and reley on other "Experts" but they need to find better experts.

Besides that NETA World for sure, Uptime, a new one I just started called Power Generation and Maintenance and T&D World.

I use to get them all and really preferred to pay for them. EC&M ain't what it use to be and I got sick and tired of having to fill out their GD surveys for the "FREE" subscription. I read what they mail me.

As for what I buy

Adobe Photoshop (something or the other)
Outdoor Photoggraphy
Fine Wood Working
Men's Health

EC, NEC Digest and I get Qualified Remodeler and Remodeling since we do alot of work for remodeling contractors.

Never heard of those, but I just googled them. Which do you like the best of the two?

I get Tools of the Trade which is solely about tools. They test products every month so when you see the 20 cordless drills hanging on the store wall and you can find out which ones are good and which ones aren't. A pretty good magazine and the price is right too, free.

EC, ECM and CEE before they merged. I get enough paper from NFPA to build a house. (I let my dues expire and they now spend twice as much on paper and postage to get me to re-up).

Question; the NEC Digest, is that an electronic news letter, or can I get that in print?

Thanks,

Bob

They're both good and both free. But if I had to choose I guess I would go with Qualified Remodeler.

Just curious as to what trade magazines you prefer and find useful? Thanks:)

I don't prefer any of them, though I get EC&M and the Journal of Light Construction because they persist in sending them to me.

Most weeks it's all I can do to get through my New Yorker....
