Are there any code violations if you install a transformer on one side of a wall and install the high/low boards in the same wall, facing another room? In other words you have room A, this is where the TX will be located. Room B shares a wall with room A and the panels are recessed mount and will be mounted in this wall. The low board will be well within 10f and not require disconnecting means.

The transformer feeder breaker would need to be lockable in the open position, OR you would need a disconnecting means in the transformer room.

So if I'm tracking with you here, as long as the transformer breaker in my high board has the capability to lock out - tag out, there is no problem with this configuration.
