Hi All,
I am new at this so please bare with me, I have this situation that there is an existing building with 15kV from the utilities in the building and 2x1.5MVA transformers feeding 347/600V board (I am in Canada). The boards are main-tie-main and on low voltage side I have 1600A to CDP1 and CDP2 with a tie breaker and the whole nine yards. From CDP1 I have breaker feeding PV solar panel (or PV solar panel feeding the CDP). From calculations completed by others we have 11% of the power for the entire building from Solar.
My question is if we have back feed up the 1.5MVA transformer to the 15kV equipment (assume all other loads are off which is not likely but just in theory). Would this be possible? the transformer is already wired as a step down, with delta on primary (15kV) and wye on secondary (347/600V). Could there be backfeed to the 15kV.
One possibility I can think of, is it would never be even if all the other loads are off (I mean zero load or less than 11% of power) since utility is still on and thus have current on the primary there wont be back feed. Is that correct or do I need to go back to engineering school again. haha.
Thanks in advance to everyone, please go easy with your comments as I am just trying to learn and I don't know if my question is stupid or not.
Thanks.
