My journeymen and i were installing a transformer and when we turned it on it made sort of an annoying humm. Journeyman told me to loosen the mounting bolts a little which resulted in no sound. Is it a good idea to be loosening the mounting bolts of the transformer from it's frame?

They tighten them for shipping and need to be loosened so the rubber mounts can absorb the vibration.

Some even come with metal brackets that need to be removed and discarded.
