transformer location

is there a code where a pad mount transformer can be placed at a 480v pedestal.
how far away from the 480 panel .actually what the clearance has to be if it is installed in front of panel? my partner
poured the slab 24" in front of panel board. i told him you cannot?

To help you get started, the xfmr can be under the panel, but the panel will need to be mounted on strut so the front is within 6 inches of the xfmr. Normally the panel sits off to the side, the top of the xfmr is used for drawings

Constructing a build-out to locate a disconnect or panel associated with a transformer, is not something I would advise, unless it really is necessary. You might do it, if you are pinched for space, but in general, I would recommend placing this equipment off to the side.

Consider what would happen if you ever need to replace the transformer, or if lead times put you in a situation where you have to install the disconnect or panel before you get the chance to install the transformer. If the equipment is cantilevered over the top of where the transformer needs to go, you have a lack of clearance available for maneuvering the transformer in to position.
