I have a friend who owns a drying machine that drys ink on sports jerseys.
This machine stays on all day to keep the ink warm. Its rated at 75 amps at 240 volts 1 phase. It is currently fused at 60 amps and has never blown a fuse because he says turning it up higher will burn the jerseys. He wants to move this machine to a new space that has an existing 100 amp 277/480 volt panel. I think he needs to figure this machine at 125% for continuous use.
I told him 75x1.25=93.75 X 240=22.5KW. So a 25KVA transformer. Feed with 50 amp 480 volt 2 pole breaker. Is this correct?
