Transformer question.

Hi everyone.

Its Friday and i am brain dead from the week and drawing a blank for some reason so a little help please. Have a piece of equipment to hook up, existing disconect is 3-phase 218v 100 amp, to a step up transformer on equipment which is 400v 3-phase 33 amps. willl the 100a disconnect handle this load.

the trans. kva would be helpful but a 30 kva 208 / 480 transformer would draw 36 amp @480 and 83 amps @ 208. 83amps x 1.25 =104a . so its very close...

3 phase 218 volt strange but...

equipment 400 v 3 phase at 33 amps
(400 x 1.732 x 33 = 22.9 kw) or as ibew501ed states, a minimum of a 30- kva transformer
218 at 100 amps would be 37 kw so it would supply the load but the inrush on the transformer will probably cause breaker tripping.
