Transformer Sizing

Im in an electrical apprenticeship right now and Im wondering what is the best way to go about sizing transformers. Is there a regular system to use??

The total volt-amps of all loads within a building are typically used to size a transformer.
No simple answer...too many variables..

To just expand on this a little more..Here are a few such variables that might come into play..

• Are you solving for a Wye-connected secondary with 3 single phase individual transformers or 1 three phase transformer?
• Perhaps you're sizing for closed Delta-connected secondary?
• Perhaps you're solving for open Delta-connected secondary?
• Maybe it's an Autotransformer?
