Transformer voltage

My building old 3ph 240V Delta high leg incoming service. I make all my own 480v with transformers scattered around large area. Question I have a new small machine 460V 3ph approx 15amp draw (don’t have specs in front of me) it will be sitting 10ft from a 3ph 240V sub panel. I already have a 45K spare transformer that is 480V primary 208/120V secondary is it possible to reverse wire and retap for the higher 240 voltage ? Or is my problem the incoming delta to a wye transformer ?

It is possible to reverse feed the transformer but you need a way to ground the 480V side which means a corner ground or go ungrounded and add a ground fault detector. Better to use a purpose built step up transformer.

You will also have to adjust the taps down, as 240 backfed into a 208 volt transformer will get you around 570+ volts. So yes, you can make it work, but it’s not the best way.
