transfrmer grounding

i need to install a 50kva transformer on seventh floor parking garage. i dont have any building steel available. the transformer is feed from first
floor. could i run GEC in same conduit as feeder to ground rod on first floor? any ideas welcome.

I think you would have to bond it to the conduit at both ends if it is ferrous, but I don't recall any requirement that precludes putting a GEC in a conduit with other conductors.

Incidentally, the code requirement is not to bond it to building steel but to the closest available grounding electrode.
