If fed underground any luminare, box etc is ok. Mike Holt has lights on a tree by his office, I've seen it and he uses in in NEC classes. Does not have to be listed to use on tree live or dead.

Just don't get on the bad side of your local Arbor Society. Be careful how you attach them.

I have a 2 lamp 4ft flor. on my huge oak tree.Have wired a few trees in my life.See nothing in code to say i can't
