I have been doing industrial electrical work for 15+ years and have been out of the loop for residential construction. My question is a contractor needs a duplex finished out, he will supply all material, how do I price out the job?

Let me read between the lines for you.
Contractor had to have another EC rough it in. EC walked, didn't get paid, had an issue with GC.
GC wants just your labor. Price it per hour, with stipulation you get paid daily.
How much per hour is all whatever you want or need.
What about permits? Liability on taking a job over?
I smell potential for trouble.
Your actual mileage may vary.

Are you subing this work from an electrical contractor or from a general contractor? If you are working for an EC, will he be responsible for the job? If you are working for a GC then what happened to the original EC?

Ask what the other guys price and double it.

He needs you, you don't need him ~ and you certainly don't need the headaches that WILL be involved here....everything from:
- I can't pay you until the property closes
- Wires shorted in walls become your problem
- etc etc etc ....

I agree with everyone else. There is a reason the orinal EC is not finishing the job. Do it T&M and find out ahead of time why he's asking you to finish and when will you get paid. If it offends him then you don't want the job. Good Luck
