No your not, it comes in many flavors, you have duplex, triplex, quadruplex. and it comes in Type URD (direct burial), or Type Service drop (aerial).

Your acronym is correct but ACSR is not used as much today as it used to be used. Various aluminum alloys are now used and are easier to cut and work with. We have quite a bit of #4/6 ACSR in the air and replace it every chance we get. The steel core tends to corrode and we have a lot of problems with open neutrals because of it. :smile:

But you'll know you have steel when you try to cut it with ordinary cutters. It gets expensive when someone thinks it's all aluminum and uses ratcheting cutters on it. :mad: There's still a lot of service drops out there with steel in it.
