Does HomeLine even fit in a BR panel? I don’t work with SqD much, no distributors up here.

Id swap it for a standard BR before I put a different brand AFCI in. 👍

As Hillbilly said, yes.

But they don't all go the other way. The Homeline buss has an extra "tab?" jutting out from the side, and there's a corresponding notch in the bottom of the breaker for that tab.

Many other "interchangeable" breakers don't have that notch, meaning the breaker may not seat and the cover may not go on right. I think tandems and 2-pole particularly

I've seen lots of BR and Q line breakers installed on Homeline bus, and though they don't plug down all the way and look like heck, that does not seem to stop anybody and they do not seem to burn off the bus either.
