Sometimes a bad ballast will not short until it gets hot.....is what I was trying to say.

Yes however if all individuall fuses it will only take out the light with the bad ballast and not the whole ckt. A much better job IMO.

usually the bad ballast is easy to find even before you open up the fixture. theres a certain smell they give off when there cooked. smells a little like burnt plastic
