Two NEC questions

I hear ya, man. Do you know why we require a receptacle within 6 feet of any point on a wall in a residential dwelling? Look around your house, look at your TV, cable box, lamps, space heaters...everything. The cord is almost always 6 feet long.

And here I thought that the reason the cords were all 6 feet long was because of the rule on receptacles. :lol:
