Many times I have one panel close to the meter and one distant one. For example for a 400 amp house, I'll install one panel just inside the house close to the meter and one disconnect feeding another panel further into the house, say 60 feet of wire from the disconnect and meter. Does this cause any imbalance issues ? I've not noticed any, but... Another twin meter base (2 - 100 amp sockets) feeding one panel just on the other side of the wall from the meters and the second panel say 75 feet away. Does this cause any imbalance or problems ? Thank you

I see a problem with 230.72, Grouping.
If you have a disconnect outside protecting the feeder to the "further" panel and you "close" panel disconnect is interior, the service disconnects are not grouped as required,

Electrically speaking, there is no "imbalance" to be concerned about.

As mentioned above, you would need two disconnects outside, or one disconnect next to the near panel.
