hey
i need to tie up the conductors of a ct-can with some rope. does anyone have a scamatic to isolate them? if i remember right you tie to the farthest right(or left) then wrap around. and then inbetween. right? wrong? yes? no?

Tori,
Install a peice of fiberglass strut bolted to the back of the the ct can and tie wrap them.
That may not be enough. When a rope tie is specified it is to hold the conductors in place under short circuit current conditions. There are huge magnetic forces developed and tie wraps will not do the job. Look at page 28 of this document.

Tori,

I've had it speced. on 1600a 277/480vac, it was for a terminal box to

connect a truck mounted generator set to a 'key type' manual t/s.

Often the installation instructions for panels 800a and larger call for the conductors to be secured with rope.
