Hello,
I am installing some new receptacles in a tech room in a dialysis center. Does the MC cable that I am proposing to use need to be hospital grade? There is regular non hospital grade MC cable in this room feeding the lighting. The building looks like it was built around 2011.
Thanks,

If patients are being treated in that room I believe you would have to use hospital grade MC and HG rated receptacles.

Don't just take my word for it. Wait for some others to reply. There may be some other perspectives.

The receptacles would have to be HFC, the lighting probably not however, regular MC would not be correct for lighting either, see Ex. NO. 2 to 517.13(B)

Hospital Grade receptacles would not be required as 517.19 does not apply to Dialysis Center.

I will check tomorrow but I believe that I have seen them in a dialysis center before. This tech room where I will be installing some additional receptacles has regular receptacles in it already.

Thanks for the help....
