I know this has been discussed before, however, I need some background info quick. Can general purpose Type MC Cable used in a patient care areas that call for a redundant ground system? Are there certain constructions of MC that can be used in this application and other types of MC that can't? Thanks in advance to all respondees.

Re: Type MC Cable

No Patient care wiring requires a wiring method with the cable armor approved as a EGC, and a second EGC. Spiral interlocked MC is not. MC cable with 2 EGC does not meet the requirement. the cable required is commonly called hospital grade AC.
