Hello,

How are ya'll? I'm Matt. I'm new to the forum. I've been reading here for a couple days trying to gather some information for a personal project I'm working on. I hope you all will be able to answer some questions for me. I'm very appreciative for any information rendered. Thanks ahead of time.

Here's my issue; I'm trying to run Underground service from the meter. I need to run about 750'. I need to power a small cabin. I believe the maximum load for the cabin will be about 150amps? Not really sure about what the average small home/cabin uses. The cabin will just have some lights, a fridge, an oven, hot water heater, and possibly an electrical furnace (we can go gas furnace to lower to load if necessary,) and various other negligible electrical devices.

I'm in a small county in Ohio in which there are no permits or inspections. I need to know what size wire to use? I've used VD Calculators to get a good idea but I'm still not really sure. I'm also not sure if the 150amps is over kill or not? This is a small two bedroom hunting cabin that only gets used about 4-6 days a month on average.

Another question I had was weather to use aluminum or copper? I'm looking to make this as affordable as possible. I'm not really aware of the pro/cons of either vs the other.

I believe it's single phase.

Any Idea on the cost of the wire also? I've done some research on the internet and haven't really been able to come up with a solid price on many of the bigger wire sizes.

Thanks for any help!
