My friend is opening a pub that will seat over 100 people...I have heard diffent versions of where to find it in the code book. I'd like to save him $ by usung NM cable versus MC cable.
Someone said we can use NM as long as its concealed within the walls and once it leaves the walls it must change to MC or pipe.I know that in drop ceilings it has to be MC cable because there isn't a fire rating of at least 15 minutes...
I see the " uses " in the wire section of the book, looks like, NM is ok to use.
I worked in an industrial setting for 10 years and left and have done the easy residential wiring since then. I am not to familiar with commercial wiring applications.
I know the safe way to do it is with MC cable but do I have the option???????
And if I can use MN wire, what about the basement area?????
I know fire ratings is everything, but I'm just having a rough time finding it and don't want to do all of the work and then have to rip it out...
THAT would piss me off,,,Thanks alot:
