I was wondeing if anyone had any information or reference for typical generator Subtransient reactacne values and X/R values for various size generators when a datasheet for the generator is not available.

For instance I heard once that generators rated 1000kW and less typically have an Xd" or .10pu with an X/R=7. Does anyone have any experience or a good reference one this information related to various size generators.

Thanks

mull,
here's the SKM typical data:

X" Subtransient reactance (saturated). Here are some typical X" values (default is 0.15):

# of Poles X"
6 Poles (or 3 Pole Pairs) 0.15
8-14 Poles (or 4-7 Pole Pairs) 0.20
16+ Poles (or 8+ Pole Pairs) 0.28
X/R Ratio

Ratio of reactance to resistance. Here are some typical X/R values:

Generator Size (kVA) X/R range
1000 8-38
2500 10-41
5000 14-45
10000 18-50
15000 22-53
20000 26-57
25000 30-60
