Uf behind vinyl siding

If the op could run conduit, why would he insist on using nm vs. uf or pulling sep conductors? Also, while nm in conduit isn't allowed in wet locs, does the same apply if it the loc is damp? IOW's, is the interior of conduit in a damp loc considered a dry loc or still a damp loc? I can't find where it makes that distinction.
My point wasn't to use conduit, but rather one of logical deduction.

If the NEC considers the inside of a conduit in a wet location is also a wet location, wouldn't the deduction be that in a wet location behind a vapor barrier no better than conduit would not be considered a dry location?

NM is not permitted in either wet or damp locations [334.12(B)(4)].

You are correct that Code is not forthcoming regarding what type of environment the inside of conduit in a damp location should be considered.

I get where your coming from-no it would not be considered dry by that reasoning. And after giving some more thought/ perusing the code about the the damp loc inside of conduit in damp area- there is no exception I have found that says nm can be used in these areas inside of conduit- I guess they figure that since you cant do it in a wet loc, common sense would dictate you can't in a damp loc........

I think.:p
