If you have any other pics it would be interesting to see them.

Here's the wider view. The welding cable may have been part
of the original install but I doubt it was part of the FACTORY
install. These units come with a single breaker. The inside of
the wiring compartment cover has parts of the wiring diagrams
cut out to access the 2 handles.

Here's another issue I have. The EE has called for 45K for this breaker. The one I got is a Sq. D MAP 36600. This is 42K at 240V. This is a 208Y/120 system. The new gen. sets I do are 480Y/277. The breakers in these units are 65K at 240 and 42K at 480.
45K seems like an odd number. Is there a way to calc. AIC for a 208 system if you have the 240 rating?
Again, I believe Kohler should be able to provide the AFC from this generator. Has anyone tried to get this info before?

Sorry everybody, but I have to put this out there again. I need to make a call tomorrow.
Thanks

Wow, before you get into this i would back off and think of the liability you are taking on working on such a crappy original install such as this. I wouldnt be able to sleep unless i replaced the whole darned thing.

I hear you:D and the keys "IMO" are almost worn off my keyboards from my incessant use of them.

I guess I just have a hard time understanding how you could form such an opinion based on only what we have seen so far.But of course that is JMO. :D

If that is not the pot calling the kettle black...

Chris
It looks as though there has been quite a bit of modification of this unit...at least from what I can tell from this picture and other generators I have seen in the past...maybe about 200-300 of them ;)

Knowledge is king, and it seems as though you need more information before you can call yourself king on this install.
Good luck, please keep us up to date on this one...I am curious as to how it is finally settled.

First thing this morning I told my fearless leader I was going to set up a meeting with the EE so he could see this rig.
"For Christ sake Chris, Just go slap it in!"
I was floored. I just grabbed my stuff and walked out.
Clearly profit motivated? I think he was having a bad morning.
He's setting up the meeting. I'll let you know.

I think we all have them once in a while...his setting up the meeting just shows that sometimes his temper/distraction from what he may have been dealing with when you spoke to him, subsides.

I wonder...does he know that you use this site and sometimes get such good ideas from us here???:D

He knows but he thinks Mr. Holt himself is corrupting my mind. Your off the hook.
Many mornings this forum is being reviewed by a few of us when he gets in. This is my doing.
I'm the only one of 25 at our shop that thinks this is a tool as important as a pair of Kliens.
Anybody out there have more than one active member from the same shop?

I got the AFC info from Kolher today. Post in a bit.
