UL Listing Concerns

Hey Guys, Looks like a neat forum.

I'm installing a valve to control the water tempeature in a home bath. The valve's powerpack is UL Listed, but the valve is not. The manufacturer (i'd rather not say who) tells me it doesn't need to be listed because it is less than 30 volts. Is this true?

I'm concerned about being UL/code compliant.

Thanks in advance.

Re: UL Listing Concerns

Here's my advice: Ditch the whole idea. This nifty gadget will be an irritation when it inevitably gives out, long before mechanical counterparts would go bad.

Re: UL Listing Concerns

I think the guy might well be right. At one time at least, UL did not list devices powered by less than 30V. I think they have since decided to start listing them, but i don't know how far along they have gotten on actually doing so.
