I have a query that I am facing for the first time, I hope someone can help me on that. One of our clients wants to use some non UL Listed/Recognized components in the Panel, I know as per the Appendix B of the UL508A standard, we are allowed to do so, but my question is that for a non-listed/recognized enclosure lamp which is powered by secondary side of a control transformer @ 115V, is it enough to use a UL listed fuse on the line side of the lamp?

As long as the wiring stays inside the control panel you are ok as long as you use a GFCI on the branch circuit supplying the device. I don't recall off hand if you have to have a separate control transformer for this or not.

The thing to contemplate is: will the addition of the GFCI and associated wiring (which I think must be separated?) cost you more time and money than just using something that is UL listed? I used to do this with Intrinsically Safe Relays for sewage life stations because there were much simpler and less expensive options that were not UL listed at the time, so the added hassle of the GFCI and special wiring was worth it. But once some better UL listed ISRs came on the market, I immediately switched.
